ABOUT
Our Amish-style home is situated in the heart of the largest Amish community in Missouri or West of the Mississippi River. Surrounded by Amish neighbors, you'll enjoy seeing buggies pass by from our wrap around deck and covered porch. Or from a window.....we have 20 on the main floor alone!
Within 30 miles of Hamilton and only 4 miles from downtown Jamesport, you might find that perfect quilt or craft item and you'll for sure have access to some amazing baked goods in the nearby Amish and Mennonite bakeries.
Make yourself at home in our home. Part of its charm is the sewing room designed by the previous owner of Shearwood Fabrics now located in Jamesport. A quilt lover myself, we have some high quality quilts on display in our home as well. We still have some gas lighting left up from the home's Amish past.
We are excited to offer 3 beautiful rooms in the house. Each room has quilt-covered comfortable beds. Carole's room offers a queen and
an extra long twin bed, Anna's has 2 queen beds and Lydi'a's room gives you a roomy king bed.
Renting the entire second floor gives you room for 7!
Available from March-October, we have also purchased a newer model camper perfect for 2 adults and placed it at an ideal location for observing the local traffic to the Amish store across from us and in the evenings maybe a deer or two. We do hope you'll have time to visit and meet David and Anna Sue Yutzy, proprietors of Shearwood Surplus.

OUR SERVICES
If you choose a room in the house, feel free to use our kitchen, enjoy a homemade cinnamon roll (or two) and coffee or you may choose to visit one of our local restaurants, If you book the camper, I'll provide homemade cinnamon rolls for your first breakfast.
For our coffee and tea lovers, a Keurig is available right outside your room. And we provide a small fridge stocked with water.

The second floor has a comfortable
leather sectional and TV for your indoor hanging out time.
Feel free to relax on our covered porch or wrap around deck. The camper offers a private seating area just outside.
You may even enjoy a dip in our above ground pool or a soak in our 2-person hot tub.
In the house, we have WIFI available for your personal devices. Unfortunately, it doesn't reach the camper.
We'll leave the tidying up of your area up to you during your stay to keep your space private. However, our laundry area is available for your use free of charge if needed.

Leisure Activities
Entrance to Poosey State Forest is 2 miles South of us.
It is a beautiful trail to drive through.
Cultural Sites
Hamilton, Missouri is within 30 miles of us. Visit the J.C. Penney museum, Missouri Star Quilt Company or the Missouri Quilt Museum.
Of course, the shops in Jamesport and the surrounding area are a must see!
